Ryan's story
"At a young age I had a desire to have a go kart for driving around the yard but didn't have the money to buy one, luckily with a little ingenuity I was able to build one from parts of an old riding lawn mower. Once it was done all I wanted to do was drive in circles!
Then around 2003 I wanted to buy a racing go kart, I saved up the money and found one for sale and then jumped right it. I was terrible at it but the desire was there. During that time an auto parts salesman was visiting our business and seen my go kart, his name was John Philpot, who has competed at Eldora for many years. He had a stock car for sale, and I wanted to go fast!
I bought that car and started into racing big cars at Waynesfield and Eldora. After about 1.5 years I got the notion to buy a modified so after some research had purchased on in the fall of 2006. My first race in a modified was the 4 Crown at Eldora. I struggled in the modifies for some years but with help from many including John Staples & Charlie Dunbar I was able to make progress.
In 2013 I was given the chance to drive the #11 Lawrence Motorsports Late Model. We competed in about 10 races that year along side my running my modified. That was a great experience, we didn't get the results we needed.
I've continue to race my own modified since then taking off one year in 2022 where I race a few races for other teams. 2025 is my 22nd year of racing!
